About Michael Berra
Michael Berra brings a wealth of professional experience to TPH Academy, having worked with NHL, collegiate, junior, and elite youth hockey players of all ages. Prior to his current role, he spent six years with the Sioux City Musketeers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) as a scout and assistant coach. During his tenure, he served as the Director of Player Development and helped many athletes reach the NCAA Division-I level.
Regarding his background in skills training, Michael spent six years as the Director of Hockey and Lead Instructor for Synergy Hockey Skills. Furthermore, he dedicated 10 years to the St. Louis AAA Blues, serving as a Head Coach and the Director of Hockey Operations. During this time, he collaborated with notable NHL alumni including Al MacInnis, Jeff Brown, Scott Mellanby, and professional coach Jamie Rivers.
Today, Michael utilizes his extensive network and development expertise to guide student-athletes through the various stages of the modern hockey recruitment process. Consequently, he provides a unique perspective on the physical and mental attributes required to succeed in the USHL and the collegiate ranks. He remains a key figure in the St. Louis hockey community, focusing on the long-term growth of every player he mentors.
