About Karen Laux
Born and raised in Mexico City, Karen Laux brings a unique international perspective and extensive professional expertise to the TPH Academy team. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and a Master’s in Marketing from La Salle University, which provided a strong foundation for her early career. Specifically, she began her professional journey in the high-tech industry at Silicon Graphics, Inc., where she focused on strategic marketing initiatives. Her career subsequently took her to Japan to work for Alias Wavefront before she eventually relocated to the innovative landscape of Silicon Valley.
After starting a family in the Santa Ynez Valley, Karen and her husband moved to Nashville in the summer of 2023 with their two children. Over the past decade, she has dedicated herself to tutoring students across various educational levels while balancing the demands of raising a family. This experience has allowed her to develop a deep understanding of diverse learning styles and the importance of personalized academic support. Furthermore, Karen has been deeply involved in supporting her own children’s hockey careers from their early days in Mites through to the Varsity level.
Currently, Karen’s daughter is a freshman at the University of Tennessee – Knoxville, and her son competes within the Nashville Jr. Predators organization. Because of her long-term involvement in numerous hockey organizations, she possesses the firsthand knowledge required to guide young athletes toward their goals. She remains passionate about helping students achieve academic excellence while they learn the essential values of hard work and teamwork through sports. Ultimately, her blend of corporate marketing experience and educational mentorship makes her a vital asset to the Nashville student-athlete community.
As a result of her global background and dedication to youth development, Karen provides a supportive and structured environment for every athlete at the Academy. By focusing on the intersection of academic success and athletic passion, she helps prepare students for the challenges of the future. Consequently, her leadership ensures that TPH families receive the guidance and professional experience necessary to navigate the competitive world of youth sports effectively.
