About Sam Canfield
Sam Canfield brings an abundance of expertise to TPH Academy, covering key areas such as mentoring, coaching, administration, and professional operations. Specifically, he possesses a strong ability to connect with and mentor young student-athletes both on and off the ice. This specialized skill set allows him to effectively guide developing hockey players through the various challenges of their athletic journeys.
Before joining TPH, Sam served as the Lead Skills Coach for Synergy Hockey and accumulated ten years of professional experience. Furthermore, he dedicated six years to serving as an assistant coach for the prestigious AAA Blues organization. These roles provided him with a deep understanding of the technical and tactical requirements necessary for success at the elite youth levels.
Throughout his career, Sam has coached alongside and learned from notable figures like Jeff Brown, Andy McDonald, Alex Brooks, and Jamie Rivers. Consequently, he applies the high-level insights gained from these professionals to his daily training sessions and player development strategies. Today, he continues to focus on raising the competitive standard for every student-athlete he mentors within the TPH program.
