About Nathan Bowen
Nathan was born in Ontario. Eventually, hockey took him to the University of Alabama-Huntsville (UAH). He played four years of NCAA hockey there. Most notably, he captained the team to a Division-II National Championship.
Following his athletic success, Nathan earned a Finance degree and an MBA from UAH in 2002. During this time, he received the President’s Award as the university’s top athlete. This award recognizes excellence in academics, community and sports. He also won the Dr. Jeanne Fisher and Civic Service awards. Additionally, he earned the Irwin/McGraw-Hill Finance service award.
Beyond his own playing career, Nathan has over 30 years of coaching and leadership experience. He served as the UAH Hockey Assistant Coach for four years. In 2002, he officially co-founded Total Package Hockey (TPH). Years later, the first TPH Academy — formerly known as Centers of Excellence — was born in Detroit in 2014. Nathan now lives in Killen, Alabama, with his wife and two children.
