Nanette Tabak

Nanette (Nan) Tabak is an Academic Learning Specialist who helps students recognize their strengths, build confidence, and develop the skills needed to thrive in school and beyond. She believes students learn best when they feel both challenged and supported.

Nan earned her B.S. in Deaf Education from Kean College, now Kean University. She began her career teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, where she developed a deep appreciation for language acquisition as the foundation of learning and the importance of strong family partnerships. Throughout her career, she has supported learners from elementary school through college, as well as professionals through corporate learning and development. These experiences have given her a broad perspective on how people learn and grow at every stage of life.

Today, Nan uses a strengths-based, relationship-centered approach to help students strengthen their executive functioning, academic, and self-advocacy skills. She guides students in understanding how they learn, identifying strategies that work for them, and building the confidence, ownership, and independence to succeed.

A New Jersey native who now calls Pennsylvania home, Nan is happiest near the water. She enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family and dog. A lifelong learner who believes there is always something new to discover, she hopes to add sailing to the list next.
