About Jason Bacashihua

With a professional playing career spanning two decades, Jason Bacashihua brings an extraordinary wealth of elite experience to the TPH Academy coaching staff. Specifically, he was selected in the first round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, going 26th overall to the Dallas Stars. Furthermore, Jason played 38 games in the National Hockey League (NHL), primarily representing the St. Louis Blues during the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons.

Beyond his time in the NHL, Bacashihua enjoyed a prolific career across the AHL and several of the top professional leagues in Europe. Notably, he captured an AHL Calder Cup championship with the Hershey Bears and later led HC 05 Banská Bystrica to a Slovakian title. Additionally, Jason proudly represented Team USA on the international stage, competing in multiple IIHF World Championships throughout his storied professional tenure.

Now, as a dedicated goaltending coach, Jason utilizes his extensive background to develop the next generation of netminders through his “Cash’s Crease” program. By focusing on technical precision and mental toughness, he helps TPH student-athletes navigate the unique pressures of the goaltending position effectively. Ultimately, his transition from a first-round NHL pick to a premier mentor ensures that our athletes receive world-class instruction and professional guidance.
