About Dwayne Norris

Dwayne Norris, a native of St. John’s, Newfoundland, currently serves as the Director of Hockey Operations for TPH Academy in Detroit. Before his coaching career, Norris played four standout seasons at Michigan State University from 1988 to 1992. During his collegiate years, he also represented Team Canada at the 1990 U20 World Junior Championships.

Regarding his professional career, the Quebec Nordiques selected Norris in the seventh round of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. He made his professional debut in 1992 with the Halifax Citadels of the AHL before reaching the NHL the following season. Following his time with the Nordiques, he continued his professional playing career through the 2007 season.

Today, Dwayne is married to his wife Traci and takes great pride in the athletic achievements of his three sons. Specifically, his son Josh was a first-round NHL draft pick and currently plays for the Ottawa Senators organization. His other sons, Cole and Dalton, also continue the family’s strong hockey legacy at the collegiate and AAA levels.
