About Derric Trudeau
Derric Trudeau is a player development coach known for his work in skating, skill development, and athlete mentorship. A former junior player, Trudeau competed in the USPHL, NA3HL, and EHL, including time with the Providence Capitals, Northeast Generals, New York Aviators, Total Athletic Seahawks, and Twin City Thunder. During his junior career, he served as a team captain, earned NA3HL All-Star honors, and signed an NAHL affiliation contract with the Northeast Generals.
Following his playing career, Trudeau transitioned into coaching and skills development. He spent five seasons as Skills Coordinator for the Boston Junior Terriers (2016–2021), while also operating Trudeau TopShelf Training, where he led private lessons, group training, and camps, working with organizations such as the South Shore Eagles and the Bay State Hockey League.
From 2021–2024, Trudeau served as Director of Progressive Hockey Development and Head Skills Coach, focusing on long-term athlete development, skating progression, and the development of structured skill pathways for players.
Trudeau currently serves as Director of Player Mentorship and Mental Development for the Loudoun Knights, where he is also a Skills Coach and Assistant Director, and previously coached within the Washington Little Capitals organization, including serving as Head Coach for the 2011 and 2012 teams. He is also a Pro-Stride Skating Coach, specializing in skating mechanics and edge work.
At TPH Academy, Trudeau focuses on developing strong skating foundations, hockey IQ, and the character needed for athletes to succeed both on and off the ice.
