About Ken Godat
Ken Godat brings decades of experience to the TPH St. Louis Soccer Academy, focusing on the development of technically elite and mentally tough players with a high Soccer IQ. Throughout his distinguished career, he has championed an instructional model that emphasizes increased training volume, 1v1 creativity, and advanced tactical intelligence. Because he believes these core elements prepare athletes to succeed in any system of play, his coaching philosophy aligns perfectly with the TPH “Study, Train, Play” mission. Furthermore, Ken is deeply passionate about inspiring a lifelong love for the game in every student-athlete he mentors.
Ken has held significant leadership roles across the region’s most respected programs, including over twenty years with the St. Louis Scott Gallagher Soccer Club. Currently serving as their Youth Technical Director, he possesses a comprehensive understanding of the player pathway from youth development to the collegiate ranks. His coaching career spans the collegiate, club, and international levels, including tenures with the Kansas Olympic Development Program and the United Soccer Academy in Europe. Consequently, he offers a global perspective on technical training that is rare in youth athletics.
As a former NCAA National Champion with Indiana University and a first-round draft pick in the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL), Ken understands the discipline required to reach the pinnacle of the sport. He continues to give back to the community through extensive outreach initiatives and scholarship programs to ensure that the next generation of players has the resources to succeed. Ultimately, his combination of professional playing experience and technical leadership makes him a cornerstone of the St. Louis soccer community. As a result, his presence at TPH Academy ensures that every athlete receives world-class instruction and the mentorship necessary to excel on and off the field.
