About Johnny Johnson BS, CSCS
A native of St. Charles, Missouri, Johnny Johnson serves as the Director of Sports Performance for TPH St. Louis Soccer Academy, bringing over 15 years of elite experience to the program. Johnny discovered his passion for human performance while competing as a standout dual-threat athlete for Missouri Southern State University. Notably, he earned ALL-MIAA honors as a wide receiver in 2008 and followed that success by being named ALL-MIAA as a running back in 2009. After graduating with a degree in Exercise Science in 2010, he continued his athletic career at the professional level with the Nebraska Danger of the Indoor Football League.
Throughout his distinguished coaching tenure, Johnny has held the prestigious Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) designation from the NSCA for 13 years. This high-level certification has allowed him to train a diverse roster of world-class athletes, including NHL stars Brady and Matthew Tkachuk and NFL standout Kyren Williams. Furthermore, his expertise extends across multiple sports, having mentored professionals such as Cody Schrader, Pierre Desir, and Alyssa Mautz. In 2020, he expanded his impact on the St. Louis region by opening his own elite performance facility, Legion of Strength Fitness and Performance.
Ultimately, Johnny’s extensive background in professional athletics and scientific strength programming makes him a vital asset to the TPH St. Louis community. He is dedicated to bringing a high-energy, results-driven approach to the academy to help every student-athlete reach their maximum physical potential. By focusing on explosive power, injury prevention, and sport-specific agility, he ensures that soccer players are physically prepared for the demands of the next level. Consequently, his leadership fosters a culture of discipline and athletic excellence that empowers students to exceed their own expectations on and off the field.
