About Jean O’Neill
While obtaining her bachelor’s degree at Providence College, Jean played NCAA Division 1 Ice Hockey for 4 years. In 2010-2011 she was named the Team Captain and presented with the Hockey East Sportsmanship Award as well as the Providence College Women’s Hockey “Captains’ Award.” In 2009-2010, Jean was named the team’s Assistant Captain. In addition to receiving team recognition, she has received repeated recognition from the Hockey East league: Jean was named Hockey East Player of the Week two times, Hockey East Player of the Month, and a Hockey East Second-Team All-Star, as well as being awarded the 2010 Providence College Women’s Hockey “Coaches Award.”
Jean serves as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Girls Jr. Flyers program. She currently serves as Head Coach of the 14UAAA Jr Flyers Girls team and Assistant Coach of the 16UAAA Girls Jr Flyers team for the 2018-2019 season. She previously served as the Head Assistant Coach of the 14U AAA Jr Flyers Girls team in the 2017-2018 season and helped lead the team to a Bronze medal finish at USA Hockey Nationals. She was Assistant Coach of the 14UAAA Jr Flyers Girls team in the 2015-2016 season, Head Coach of the Quakers girls’ 14U Tier 1 team in the 2013-2014 season, as well as the assistant Coach of the Quakers girls’ 19U Tier 1 team in the 2012-2013 season.
