About Jimmy Law
Jimmy is a West Chester, PA native who is driven to develop high-performing hockey players in the Philadelphia Area. Jimmy formerly worked as the Assistant Strength Coach for USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program (NTDP). This unique position allowed him to work with innovative strength coaches, elite American-born players, and cutting-edge technology in sports performance.
Jimmy grew up playing youth hockey for the Quakers and Malvern Prep. He then attended the University of Pittsburgh where he studied Exercise Science and played on their ACHA D-1 team. In 2017, he received his master’s degree in Health and Fitness (Pitt). Jimmy worked at HPATC as the Jr. Flyers Strength and Conditioning Coach, while also serving as an on-ice assistant for the organization’s 15U and 16U teams. In 2019, he accepted a dual-role position working for the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite as their Lead Performance Coach and Assistant Coach in the Girls Midget Program. In 2022, Jimmy accepted the Performance Coach position with Compuware and the assistant NTDP role. During his time with Pens Elite and GVN, he worked with players in the NAHL, OHL, BCHL, USHL, NCAA, AHL, and NHL.
Jimmy has certifications in strength and conditioning, sports performance, recovery, and nutrition and is currently working to be a board-certified health coach. He believes in a coaching method that focuses on a combination of quality training, appropriate nutrition, and a strong mindset.
