TPH Academy Alumni Lucas Ellinas and Cole Hutson Selected in the 2024 NHL Draft
TPH Academy is proud to announce that Lucas Ellinas and Cole Hutson, two exceptional student-athlete Alumni, have been selected in the 2024 NHL Draft. Their selection is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and talent on the ice and a source of inspiration for all aspiring-elite student-athletes.
Lucas Ellinas, a 2024 TPH Academy Study-only Waterloo Region graduate and left wing with the Kitchener Rangers, was drafted 104th overall by the Ottawa Senators. Ellinas joined TPH Waterloo Region as TPH Academy is the Official Academic Provider for the OHL Kitchener Rangers. Ellinas was known as a valuable asset on the ice and in the TPH Academy Waterloo Region community. He was a standout for his time and hard work alongside his peers in the classroom and the gym.

We are proud to see him accomplish one of his dreams and look forward to cheering him on with the Sens.”

Former TPH Academy Detroit student-athlete and Team USA U18 defenseman Cole Hutson was drafted 43rd overall by the Washington Capitals. A devoted student-athlete on and off the ice, Hutson made an impact on his TPH Detroit community in more ways than one.
“TPH Detroit was excited to see Cole taken by the Washington Capitals last weekend in the 2024 NHL entry draft,” shared TPH Academy Detroit Director, Dwayne Norris. “[Cole is] a terrific young man who was committed on the ice and in the classroom during his time with us in our Academy model. We wish him the very best in his future hockey endeavors with the Capitals.”
Hutson joins his older brother, Lane, playing at the professional level. Lane is a fellow TPH Academy Detroit alumnus and was drafted 62nd overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2022 NHL Draft.
