The TPH Detroit Tradition Continues at Buffalo Wild Wings Arena

TPH Academy is excited to announce that beginning with the 2025-26 Academy year, TPH Detroit will be relocating to the Buffalo Wild Wings Arena (BWWA) in Troy, Michigan. This move marks a significant step forward for the program, offering expanded opportunities and upgraded resources that will elevate the experience for TPH student-athletes, families, and staff.

Buffalo Wild Wings Arena is a modern, state-of-the-art facility that aligns perfectly with TPH’s commitment to providing an elite environment for academic and athletic development. With four rinks and a reputation as Southeast Michigan’s premier hockey venue, BWWA attracts consistent traffic from Junior and collegiate scouts, creating increased exposure for our athletes. The facility’s hockey-first focus enhances our ability to deliver on the TPH mission of Study, Train, Play, and allows student-athletes to train in an environment built for growth.

A key advantage of the move is the space available at BWWA. The larger, open-concept classroom will enable more efficient academic monitoring and support, while designated student lockers will support an elite student-athlete environment. With the addition of improved in-house facilities—including locker rooms, restrooms, and access to athlete-friendly food options—daily life at TPH Academy will continue to set the standard for aspiring elite student-athletes.

TPH Detroit invites all current and prospective student-athletes and their families to join them for an Open House at Buffalo Wild Wings Arena on June 1, 2025 from 3:30-5:00 PM. This event is open to all ages; registration is required HERE.

The move also brings with it a new off-ice training partnership with Phyx Performance, a strength and conditioning organization that specializes in hockey-specific development. Located directly across from the rink, Phyx Fitness will help student-athletes build customized training plans focused on strength, speed, and performance—on and off the ice. Additionally, B&R Sporting Goods, located within the facility, provides direct access to skate sharpening, hockey gear, and equipment needs, saving families valuable time and adding another layer of support to the Academy experience.

For the many student-athletes who participate with the Oakland Jr. Grizzlies—who also call BWWA home—this transition offers increased convenience and synergy between school and sport. At the same time, TPH Detroit will remain open and welcoming to student-athletes from all Tier I and Tier II programs who meet the Academy’s standards for enrollment.

“This move is all about enhancing the student-athlete experience,” shared Dwayne Norris, Director of TPH Detroit. “We’re keeping our incredible staff in place and staying true to the TPH model, but we’re upgrading the tools and resources we have to work with. From training and academics to exposure and community, everything we value is being amplified in this new setting. We truly believe Buffalo Wild Wings Arena is the right home for our future.”

As TPH Detroit prepares for this exciting new chapter, the organization extends its sincere thanks to its partners at the Bloomfield Tennis Club, the Detroit Skating Club, Tarek Makled of No BULL Training, and George at DSC Eis Café for their unwavering support and professionalism throughout the years. Their contributions have played a meaningful role in shaping the TPH Detroit experience, and TPH is grateful for the foundation they helped build. With that strong foundation in place, TPH looks forward to continuing its growth and impact at Buffalo Wild Wings Arena.

All interested families are encouraged to apply now to TPH Academy Detroit or fill out an inquiry form to begin the process of speaking with the academy. Interested in checking out the space? Join TPH Detroit on June 1st for an Open House at the Buffalo Wild Wings Arena! Please register HERE.
