About Paul Evans
After spending most of his youth in southern Florida, Paul enrolled at the University of Colorado to study kinesiology. He discovered a passion for hockey after attending a Colorado Avalanche game during their inaugural season. After receiving his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from CU, he served as a minor
league athletic trainer with several of the Colorado Rockies farm teams before becoming a teacher and Athletic Director for Englewood Public Schools. Upon relocating his family to Indianapolis, Paul took a position with Indy Parks and has been the Perry Park Ice Arena manager for six years.
During his tenure in both education and recreation, Paul has directed numerous athletic programs and managed a variety of facilities, including the ice rink in Indianapolis. He has completed several courses within the US Ice Rink Association curriculum while working toward certification as a Certified Ice Rink Manager (CIRM). Paul has been responsible for numerous improvements to the facility and has elevated the quality of the ice surface, which is regarded as among the best in the state. He is enthusiastic about the expanded opportunities provided by the Indiana State Fairgrounds facilities and is eager to restore the Indiana Farmers Coliseum to its role as the ‘heart of hockey’ in the Hoosier State.
