About Matthew Doran
Matthew Doran, a native of St. Louis, Missouri, had a distinguished career in junior hockey, spanning four years with three seasons in the NAHL and one season in the BCHL. Commencing his collegiate journey at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks for his freshman year, he later transferred to SUNY Geneseo, where he completed four years, balancing academics, hockey, and earning a bachelor’s degree in Communication.
During his tenure at Geneseo, Matthew achieved significant accolades, including winning two conference championships, earning dual selections to all-conference teams, finishing as a runner-up in the National Championship, and being honored with a place on the National Championship all-tournament team. Transitioning to the professional arena post-college, he competed for the Wichita Thunder in the ECHL and spent a season with the Huntsville Havoc in the SPHL, where he stood out as a member of the All-SPHL Rookie team.
Excited to kickstart his coaching career at TPH, Matthew eagerly anticipates the opportunity to share his wealth of hockey experiences and knowledge with young student-athletes. Inspired by TPH’s track record of nurturing talent, he aims to equip every player with the necessary preparation to excel at higher levels of competition.
