About Al Raymond
With many years of experience as a professional player, coach, and Player Development Coordinator, his career has taken him throughout Europe and North America, working for various hockey organizations ranging from the Major Junior level to Division 1 (European League). Al continued to build on his resume as a Hockey Educator. He held the position of Player’s Development Coordinator for the Canadian International Hockey Academy and HEO District 3 Minor Hockey Association Development Coach before moving back to Chicago. Prior to working for the Canadian International Hockey Academy, Al was the Program Director and Head Coach of an established hockey organization in Chicago for more than 10 years while simultaneously running Al Raymond Hockey School for 8 years. He also worked with the Gatineau Olympiques, Major Junior A in the Quebec league, and was Assistant Coach for the Team Quebec U17 Program. Al’s playing career has taken him from the CJHL and OHL, where he was fortunate enough to have been drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in 1982, to a lengthy playing career in Europe, having captured a World Championship with the Dutch National Team in 1999.
