TPH Superior Adds Baseball Programming to the Center of Excellence
SUPERIOR, CO – TPH Superior is pleased to announce a partnership with Roughriders Baseball that will make its Center of Excellence academy model available to competitive baseball players from Colorado who aspire to be elite student-athletes. Superior’s campus, based out of the Sport Stable, is surrounded by 180,000 square feet of multi-sport usage space including the Roughriders’ state-of-the-art baseball training facilities and a variety of sports performance amenities. By partnering with Chad Jacobsen and the Roughrider Baseball program, TPH Superior will empower student-athletes from across the Colorado youth baseball community to Study, Train and Play in an environment designed to meet their every need.
“RoughRiders Baseball has an exceptional track record of developing young athletes and we are thrilled to incorporate baseball into what we deliver at the Center of Excellence,” said TPH Colorado Executive Director Jordan Pietrus. “Chad and his staff share the same values we believe in at TPH which has made this partnership such a natural fit.”
Jacobsen, a former Colorado Rockies MLB draft pick, NCAA baseball player of the year award winner, NCAA All American and owner of multiple NCAA records, will oversee baseball training operations at the Center of Excellence starting this Fall. As a longtime leader in the Colorado baseball community, he is determined to make an impact on the state’s next wave of ballplayers.
“We at RoughRiders Baseball are passionate about investing in and teaching the next generation of baseball players here in Colorado,” stated Jacobsen. “After learning in detail about the Center of Excellence, and observing the growth of the athletes involved in the hockey program, the application of the Center of Excellence model to baseball and the potential it presents for baseball athletes is undeniable.”
The Center of Excellence model has proven to be an effective developmental blueprint that is not exclusive to any one sport because it emphasizes the continuous improvement of student-athletes. Students at the Center of Excellence also benefit from guest speakers, community service events as well as mentorship and life skills program. TPH prides itself on taking a holistic approach to the long-term development of each individual as a student, an athlete, and a person. By combining sport-specific training and instruction with a proven, accredited academic learning program, TPH continues to increase the number of student-athlete lives they’re able to impact every year.
“The opportunity for baseball players to get extra time in the weight room and getting critical reps on the field with detailed instruction is so important to the long-term development of any athlete.” Jacobsen added, “Not only will the extra reps on the field and the gym benefit these athletes, but the life skills and mentorship they will receive through TPH Superior and our coaches take everything to the next level.”
