TPH Nashville and Nashville Skating Academy Launch Game-Changing Partnership for Skaters
TPH Nashville and Nashville Skating Academy (NSA) are thrilled to announce the launch of the TPH Nashville Skating Academy, a partnership dedicated to growing the sport of figure skating and providing enhanced development opportunities for skaters of all levels throughout Middle Tennessee.
The TPH Nashville Skating Academy will assume responsibility for figure skating programming previously managed by Ford Ice Centers in Bellevue and Antioch, and will offer a full spectrum of programs — from the Learn to Skate curriculum to advanced figure skating instruction, performance opportunities, camps, and clinics. The partnership aims to foster a strong skating foundation while providing a clear path for those who aspire to compete at the highest levels. The Ford Ice Center in Clarksville will continue to manage its figure skating programming.
“This partnership is about more than skating,” shared Pat O’Neill, Executive Director of TPH Nashville. “It’s about creating a place where kids and individuals in our community can grow, develop, and exceed what they thought was possible—on and off the ice.”
For skaters pursuing elite aspirations, the partnership also opens doors to combine their athletic development with a flexible academic model through TPH Academy Nashville. The Academy model supports training and education in tandem, helping student-athletes reach their full potential in sport, school, and life.
Since 2001, TPH’s vision has been to become the world leader in positively impacting the lives of student-athletes through sport. The organization prides itself on exceeding the expectations of student-athletes, families, coaches, and educators. TPH’s holistic approach to development focuses on four key areas: becoming a better teammate, growing as an athlete, achieving academic goals, and thriving as a person. At its core, TPH is committed to helping student-athletes win the ultimate game—the game of life.
Founded in 2005, Nashville Skating Academy has long been a center of excellence in the regional and national skating scene. NSA athletes regularly compete at U.S. Nationals and on international stages, with alumni advancing to prestigious competitions and collegiate programs.
“I am excited for the Nashville Skating Academy to work with TPH Nashville in a joint effort to grow skating across Middle Tennessee,” shared Laura Sanders Holzman, Director of NSA. “Whether a skater is stepping onto the ice for the first time or competing at a national level, this partnership allows us to expand access and enhance the development process.”
Alan Keeso, CEO of TPH, also emphasized the significance of the collaboration: “The TPH Nashville Skating Academy brings together two organizations who care deeply about student-athlete development and community growth. This is a powerful platform for student-athletes to chase big dreams and build strong foundations.”
With a shared mission to inspire, teach, and develop the next generation of skaters, TPH Nashville and Nashville Skating Academy want to be an impactful part of a thriving, supportive skating community in the greater Nashville area. Those interested in TPH Academy Nashville for the 2025-2026 school year should apply now to begin a combined journey of academic and athletic excellence.
