TPH Kansas City and Midwest Top Gun Invite Families to Explore New Lacrosse Program
A new era of lacrosse development is launching in Kansas City as TPH Academy is proud to announce its partnership with Midwest Top Gun, the region’s premier lacrosse program. To kick off this exciting collaboration, TPH Academy Kansas City will host a Lacrosse Open House on July 10 from 7:30 to 8:15 PM. The event will take place on the TPH Academy Kansas City Campus at AdventHealth Sports Park at Bluhawk, 16201 Shawnee Drive in Overland Park, and will offer families a firsthand look at what’s ahead for lacrosse student-athletes in the area.
At the heart of this new initiative is David Colbert, who will lead lacrosse development at TPH Academy Kansas City. Colbert brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the role, serving as Co-Director of Player Development at Midwest Top Gun and head coach of the varsity lacrosse program at Pembroke Hill since 2009. His teams have consistently ranked among the top four in the metro area, and his influence on Kansas City lacrosse extends well beyond the sidelines, with leadership roles on both the LAKC Executive Board and the Kansas City Youth Lacrosse Association’s Competition Committee.
“Our mission at Midwest Top Gun is to develop complete players — not just athletes with skill, but people with character,” shared Colbert. “Partnering with TPH Academy gives us a chance to take that mission further by surrounding players with an environment that puts their academics, personal growth, and sport development on equal footing.”
