The DI Difference: TPH Academy Columbus Names Elite Goaltending Duo to Staff
COLUMBUS, OH — In youth hockey, everyone talks about development. At TPH Academy Columbus, we are building a team that defines it. TPH Academy Columbus is proud to announce two major additions to its hockey development team, naming Nick Petraglia and Bailey Seagraves as the academy’s Goaltending Coaches.
With their arrival, our Columbus campus now features three staff members with NCAA Division I coaching backgrounds, including Nick Petraglia, Bailey Seagraves, and our Director and Head of Hockey, Nate Handrahan. For families seeking the ultimate environment for their student-athletes, this announcement represents a genuine game-changer.
The Blueprint of Top-Flite Goaltending: Nick Petraglia
Nick Petraglia understands what elite goaltending looks like because he has built it at the highest levels. As a former NCAA Division I student-athlete, coach, and administrator at Miami University, Nick spent two decades recruiting, scouting, and developing elite talent. During his tenure, he helped guide teams to 5 conference championships, 10 NCAA Tournaments, and 2 Frozen Four appearances, while contributing to the development of more than 20 NHL players, 12 All-Americans, 32 all-conference selections, 3 conference players of the year, and a Hobey Baker Award winner and Olympic captain.
At Miami, he worked with and recruited players including Trent Vogelhuber, Sean Kuraly, Connor Murphy, Jack Roslovic, Kiefer Sherwood, and Carson Meyer. He is also a USA Hockey Level IV certified coach, with national team experience supporting programs such as the NTDP, Hlinka Gretzky Cup, and Five Nations. In 2025, he served as an assistant coach for Team USA’s U17 team at the Four Nations, earning a silver medal, and he remains actively involved in USA Hockey goaltending development through the Warren Strelow Program.

Walked the Path, Coached the Best: Bailey Seagraves
In Ohio hockey, the goaltender position comes with equal parts excitement and pressure. It is a long development path, and understanding what comes next is not always clear.
Bailey Seagraves brings that perspective in a very real way. Most recently, he served as the Goaltending Coach for the Ohio State University Women’s Ice Hockey program at the Division I level, helping lead the Buckeyes to a 2021-22 WCHA playoff title and the program’s first-ever national championship. A native of Hilliard, OH, Seagraves is one of the most accomplished goaltenders to come through the AAA Blue Jackets system and was part of the 2014-15 T1EHL playoff championship team. Selected 55th overall in the 2013 USHL Futures Draft by the Chicago Steel, Seagraves went on to play junior hockey in the USHL, NAHL, and USPHL before serving as an emergency backup goaltender for the Columbus Blue Jackets.
What he brings to TPH is not just technical instruction, but a clear understanding of what players need at each stage of development, connecting daily training to the realities of junior, collegiate, and professional hockey.
