TPH Academy Launches in Columbus, Expanding the Pathway for Aspiring Elite Student-Athletes

Columbus, Ohio — TPH Academy has officially announced the launch of TPH Academy Columbus, opening in the fall of 2026 at OhioHealth Chiller North in Lewis Center, Ohio, in partnership with the Ohio Blue Jackets and EDG Hockey. This new campus brings TPH’s proven academy model to Central Ohio — a model designed specifically for aspiring elite student-athletes. Applications are now being accepted for the 2026-2027 academic year at TPHAcademy.com/Columbus.

Built on the strong foundation and success of hockey development in the Columbus area, TPH Academy Columbus represents a natural next step in elevating opportunities for dedicated student-athletes. As the level of play and success within the Ohio Blue Jackets program has continued to rise, so has the demand from players and families for additional daily training, structure, and academic flexibility to support long-term development. That demand has led to the arrival of TPH Academy Columbus, bringing a proven model, accredited academics, and a clear pathway to junior, college, and beyond, all within the Columbus area.

At TPH Academy Columbus, student-athletes Study, Train, and Play within a structured but flexible schedule built around long-term athlete development. Student-athletes complete accredited, NCAA-approved academics while training on the ice, in the gym, and in the classroom in an environment designed to mirror the daily structure of high-level junior, college, and professional athletes. The program is built around TPH’s development philosophy of building the Intelligent, Adaptable, Confident hockey player prepared for the demands of junior hockey, NCAA hockey, professional opportunities, and long-term success beyond the game.

“TPH Academy is built for families who are serious about development and serious about academics,” said Alan Keeso, CEO of TPH Academy. “Our model is designed to prepare student-athletes for the next level and for the long term. TPH Academy Columbus gives motivated players in Central Ohio access to the same daily development environment that has helped so many of our student-athletes advance to junior, college, and professional hockey — and now they can do it right here at home.”

The Columbus campus will operate out of OhioHealth Chiller North and will work closely with the Ohio Blue Jackets. This collaboration is designed to build upon the Blue Jackets’ existing success by adding an additional layer of daily structure, training, and academic alignment for players seeking more. The partnership also includes Ed Gingher and EDG Hockey, bringing high-performance hockey camps in Central Ohio designed for competitive players serious about developing their game.

“Our players and families have shown a strong commitment to development, and this partnership allows us to build on that momentum,” shared Gingher. “We’ve had great success developing players, and this gives those who are looking for more daily structure, training, and flexibility an opportunity to continue progressing at an even higher level. This is about adding to what we already do and continuing to raise the standard for hockey development in Columbus.”

For more than 20 years, TPH Academy has helped student-athletes advance to the highest levels of hockey. Alumni such as Kirsten Simms, a 2026 Team USA Gold Medalist and Patty Kazmaier Award finalist, and Lane Hutson, the 2025 NHL Rookie of the Year and record-setting defenseman at Boston University, represent the long-term development pathway TPH Academy is built to support. This pathway helps student-athletes progress from youth hockey to junior hockey, NCAA hockey, and beyond.

Today, TPH Academy includes more than 15 campuses worldwide and TPH Academy Online, and has helped thousands of student-athletes move on to junior hockey, NCAA programs, professional hockey, and successful careers beyond the game.

TPH Academy Columbus is now accepting inquiries and applications for the 2026–2027 academic year for student-athletes in grades 6–12.
