TPH Nashville Adds Former NHL Forward Shane Prince to Hockey Staff

Former NHL Forward Brings More Than a Decade of Professional Experience to TPH Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Total Package Hockey (TPH) Nashville is proud to announce the addition of Shane Prince as Player Development Coach. Prince brings an accomplished professional career that includes the NHL, KHL, AHL, OHL, Swiss National League, and international competition. His addition continues TPH Nashville’s investment in building one of the region’s premier hockey development staff.

Prince’s path to professional hockey began in the Ontario Hockey League with the Ottawa 67’s. He developed into one of the league’s premier offensive players, recording 165 points in his final two seasons before being selected in the second round of the 2011 NHL Draft by the Ottawa Senators. He went on to play 128 NHL games with the Senators and New York Islanders before building a professional career that spanned more than a decade and included over 700 games across North America and Europe.

Along the way, Prince earned AHL Second All-Star Team honors, was selected to the AHL All-Star Game, received KHL Forward of the Month recognition, led the KHL in game-winning goals, and helped Dinamo Minsk capture the Belarus Cup Championship. His ability to succeed across multiple leagues and styles of play speaks to the consistency, adaptability, and hockey IQ that defined his career.

As Player Development Coach, Prince will help develop the next generation of intelligent, adaptable, and confident hockey players. Drawing on more than a decade of professional experience, he will help athletes develop the habits, decision-making, and confidence needed to impact the game at higher levels, while sharing the firsthand perspective that only comes from building a career at the highest levels of hockey.

“I am excited to enter this next chapter that gives me the opportunity to give back by helping the next generation of players,” said Prince. “I know firsthand how crucial great coaching and mentorship are, and I’m looking forward to playing a role that helps to support and develop these young athletes as they pursue their own goals. Helping players grow both on and off the ice is something I have always been incredibly passionate about, and I’m excited to be a part of what TPH Nashville is building.”

Teddy Rotenberger, Director of TPH Nashville, believes Prince’s addition is another important step in the program’s continued growth.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Shane to our staff,” said Rotenberger. “His extensive professional background and passion for mentorship make him an incredible resource for our student-athletes. Learning from someone who has competed at the highest levels and understands the process of constant improvement is invaluable for our families at TPH Nashville.”

With Shane Prince joining the staff, TPH Nashville continues to build an environment where student-athletes are challenged, supported, and prepared for what’s next.
