Ian Voit Named Associate Head Coach for Little Caps 16U Team TPH Academy Model

The Washington Little Capitals and TPH Academy Virginia have announced that Ian Voit will serve as Associate Head Coach for the Little Caps 16U Team Academy Model for the 2026–2027 season at ION International Training Center.

Working alongside Head Coach Cody Dion, Voit will play a major role in recruiting, player development, and advancement. Known for his ability to identify and develop high-potential players, Voit brings extensive experience working with elite AAA athletes and guiding them through the critical stages of their development.

“My goal is to [provide] players with the guidance, development, and opportunities they need to reach the next level,” said Voit. “I focus on the complete athlete — not just skills, but character, preparation, and hockey IQ — so that each player can maximize their potential on and off the ice.” (Washington Little Caps)

Voit joins the program at a pivotal time as the TPH Team Academy model continues to establish a new standard for elite player development in the DMV. Built around a fully integrated daily schedule that includes academics, strength and conditioning, on-ice training, and video analysis, the Team Academy model is designed to prepare student-athletes for the next level of hockey.

“Ian is an elite recruiter and developer of young talent,” shared Little Caps Executive Director Mike Donnellan. “His ability to recruit players with potential and help them grow on and off the ice is exactly what our program needs as we build nationally competitive teams. Ian trains some of the best young players in Pittsburgh across multiple AAA programs, and his family ties to elite hockey — including his father’s experience as the skating coach for the Pittsburgh Penguins — give him unique insight into the pathways players need to succeed. Ian will be instrumental in strengthening our upper-level programs and ensuring WLC remains a destination for elite hockey in the DMV.” (Washington Little Caps)
