From TPH Academy to the NHL Playoffs

The atmosphere changes when the calendar turns to April. The intensity rises, and the hits become harder. In short, it is time for the NHL Playoffs. For hockey fans, this is the best time of the year. However, for TPH Academy, this season proves our mission works. Seeing 16 alumni across NHL organizations in the post-season validates our “Study, Train, Play” model.

NHL Stars: The TPH Alumni Making Waves

This year, at least 16 former TPH student-athletes are chasing the Stanley Cup. Specifically, these players represent the elite standard of our programs.

Nick Suzuki is the captain of the Montreal Canadiens, he recently surpassed the 100-point milestone. Furthermore, veteran leaders like Jacob Trouba and Travis Konecny continue to lead their clubs. Trouba provides a steady defensive presence for his team. Konecny plays a high-energy style that fans love during the playoffs.

Additionally, the next wave of elite talent is arriving rapidly. Lane Hutson and Josh Doan transitioned seamlessly to the professional ranks this spring. We also watch Rutger McGroarty closely. He joined the Pittsburgh Penguins just in time for the post-season grind. Ultimately, these players prove that the path from TPH to the NHL is a reality.

How do players like Suzuki and McGroarty jump from prospects to NHL mainstays? Undoubtedly, it starts with a professional mindset. This discipline must exist in the classroom and on the ice. To support this, TPH Academy utilizes Subject for our academic curriculum.

Subject is a high-level, film-backed learning platform. It allows our student-athletes to manage their education with precision. Importantly, Subject is fully NCAA-accredited. This accreditation helps players who want to play college hockey before turning pro.

Why the Professional Path Starts in the Classroom:

  • Academic Discipline: The NHL Playoffs require mental toughness. Managing a rigorous curriculum through Subject builds that exact focus.

  • Flexibility for the Grind: Elite players travel constantly. Consequently, Subject allows players to learn from a hotel, a bus, or a rink.

  • Elite Readiness: Because Subject is NCAA-approved, our players remain eligible for top-tier college programs. Thus, they stay on track for the NHL draft.

Training for the Stanley Cup Standard

The NHL Playoffs demand more than just skill. Instead, they require physical durability and tactical intelligence. Consequently, TPH Academy mirrors these professional standards in daily training.

Our student-athletes participate in high-repetition skill sessions every day. Moreover, they use strength and conditioning programs designed for the modern game. We teach the same “Athleader” principles that Josh Norris and Cutter Gauthier display now. In fact, TPH habits are the same habits required to win a playoff series.

Join the Ranks of the Elite

The names Suzuki, Trouba, and Gauthier once sat on our academy rosters. Today, millions of hockey fans search for them during the NHL Playoffs. Their success is not an accident. Rather, it results from the right environment and a relentless work ethic.

The road to the professional ranks is difficult. Nevertheless, TPH Academy provides the map. We prepare you for the bright lights with NCAA-accredited academics and world-class coaching.
