Dave Sellin to Drive Continued Growth at TPH Grand Rapids as Head of Hockey
TPH Academy is excited to announce Dave Sellin as the new Head of Hockey at TPH Academy Grand Rapids. A respected leader in the Michigan hockey community, Sellin brings over a decade of coaching and development experience, most recently serving as Head of Hockey at TPH Detroit, where he helped guide athletes from Peewee to Pro.
Known for his ability to connect with players and elevate performance through intentional, process-driven coaching, Sellin has a proven track record of building strong cultures and producing results. He has contributed to three Michigan High School State Championship teams as an assistant coach with Hartland High School, led Michigan Hockey Advancement teams at the 15U, 16U, and 18U levels, and coached Team Michigan Seniors at the 2024 CCM National Invitational Tournament.
In his new role, Sellin will oversee hockey operations at TPH Grand Rapids and serve as 18U Head Coach for Fox Motors. His leadership reinforces TPH’s commitment to its Hockey Development Model, which emphasizes consistent, high-quality training focused on long-term growth and game transferability. Student-athletes train on the ice four times a week through a progressive, phase-based system that combines skill development, hockey IQ, and situational play.
“I am extremely excited about what lies ahead with this next transition to the Head of Hockey at TPH Grand Rapids, as well as the 18U head coach position within a first-class organization like Fox Motors,” shared Sellin. “I look forward to continuing to build on the high standard and championship mindset they’ve created. And I want to extend a huge thank you to all the families, players, and staff members within TPH Detroit who I’ve had the pleasure of working with over the past several years.”
Under Sellin’s guidance, TPH Grand Rapids will continue to shape student-athletes who are intelligent, adaptable, and confident—on the ice, in the classroom, and in life.
