Boston Hockey Academy to Bring the TPH Academy Experience to the Greater Boston Area

TPH Academy is proud to announce its partnership with Boston Hockey Academy. This fall of 2024, Boston Hockey Academy - now Powered by TPH academics - will add TPH’s blended academic model. Boston Hockey Academy student-athletes and families interested in learning more about the TPH Academy blended learning experience are invited to join TPH and BHA for a Virtual Information Session via Zoom on Wednesday, June 12, at 7:00 PM EST.

“At Boston Hockey Academy, we know how important a great education is to our families—and it should be! A strong education pays lifelong dividends, and we want to ensure that our student-athletes get the individualized, personalized, and customized attention that prepares them to be wildly successful as college freshmen and beyond.” Shared Boston Hockey Academy General Manager and President, Nate Bostic.

Bostic continues, “This is exactly what TPH Academy excels at. They blend virtual and in-person academic resources to bring the best of both worlds to the student-athlete experience, removing barriers that come with teaching to large groups and empowering each student with an education fully tailored to his or her needs and goals. TPH's Head of Academics and Success Coaches, who will be onsite and in the classroom every day with our student-athletes, work with each individual to optimize learning and drive performance. We are thrilled to be able to offer TPH's blended learning model starting this upcoming 2024-25 academy year as an option for our families.”

TPH Academy Blended Learning in Action

The TPH Academy Blended Learning Environment is deliberately designed for student-athletes, putting flexibility, customization, and personalization at the forefront. With a comprehensive course catalog that includes university prep courses, foreign language studies, and a wide range of elective course offerings, Boston Hockey Academy Powered by TPH student-athletes are well-positioned to receive a world-class, NCAA-accredited education while pursuing their athletic goals.

Course progress is actively supervised and optimized by in-person TPH academic leaders in real time. A mastery-based learning approach prepares student-athletes to become independent, self-starting college freshmen. Courses and assignments are tailored to each student-athlete with their weekly sports and competition schedule in mind and prioritized in by the TPH academic team in partnership with the individual student-athlete. Coursework is accessible 24/7, including throughout travel for games and competition.

“We are deeply humbled by the trust that Boston Hockey Academy has placed in us,” expressed TPH Academy CEO, Alan Keeso. “Boston Hockey Academy is a highly respected organization led by a team of exceptional individuals who have made significant contributions to the local hockey community. We are privileged to be part of their efforts to further the holistic development of local hockey players and student-athletes in the Greater Boston Area. We are eager to bring our expertise to an already outstanding hockey academy.”

Student-athletes are prepared to become independent, self-starting college freshmen through our mastery-based learning approach.

The TPH Academy Model is centered around a schedule that provides both consistency and culture. More importantly, it is constructed with an understanding of the value of proper rest, recovery, and nutrition. During Academy day hours, the focus remains on development, but after the day concludes, student-athletes have more time to focus their energy elsewhere, whether that be family, hobbies, work, or other life experiences.

Student-athletes will also benefit from TPH's enrichment programs, such as Coach F.A.’s Mentorship Program, Virtual Guest Speaker experiences, Athlete Performance Monitoring, and the TPH Performance Zone, which includes exclusive partners for nutrition programs, mental health coaching, SAT and ACT prep, and more.

This past year, TPH Academy Student-Athletes finished the year with 82% on the honor roll, an average GPA of 3.57, and over 33 AP Courses taken. In addition to academic achievements, 5 Student-Athletes were drafted to the NHL, 21 SAs committed to Division 1 Universities, 40 Advanced to Junior Hockey, 15 were Tendered or Drafted to the USHL, 32 Advanced to USAH Player Development Camps, and over 100 TPH Academy Student-Athletes Advanced from Tier I to Tier II programs.

Located in the heart of college hockey, Boston Hockey Academy has programs representing three major Division 1 conferences (Hockey East – BU, BC, Northeastern, U-Lowell, Merrimack; ECAC – Harvard University; Atlantic Hockey League – Bentley University) minutes from their campus, allowing them to maximize player exposure. Additionally, Greater Boston is home to more NHL scouts than any other area in North America.
