Windy City Storm Extends and Expands TPH’s Role to Association Management
Palatine, IL – Total Package Hockey (TPH), a national leader in hockey athlete development and hockey operations, is proud to announce its extended and expanded partnership with the Windy City Storm. With this, the Windy City Storm Youth Hockey Club has expanded TPH’s role from academics management via TPH Academy to Club Management via Total Package Hockey.
TPH will manage the Windy City Storm youth hockey program — a move designed to enhance the experience for players, families, and coaches both on and off the ice. The announcement comes at an exciting time, as new academy director Susan Magill will work in tandem with Windy City Storm hockey leaders, now jointly managed under TPH.

The Windy City Performance Academy, Powered by TPH, is now accepting applications for the 2025-2026 academic year.
This new chapter for Windy City Storm hockey is built on a shared vision: to provide players with an unmatched, full-service hockey and personal development experience — one that balances elite athletic training with individualized growth and a deep understanding of what it takes to succeed both in sport and life.
“This partnership extension and expansion is a natural progression as we work shoulder to shoulder with the Windy City Storm to amplify the experience of the hockey athlete, tethering more extensively the on and off-ice development package with the classroom and academics element,” shared Alan Keeso, CEO of TPH. “We’re excited to take this experience to new heights together.”
The Windy City Storm has long offered its players more than just ice time — it offers a roadmap, built on elite coaching, personalized skill development, and performance tracking. Now, with TPH, the Storm gains expanded support in operations, planning, and best practices.
The Storm’s success is backed by a proven development model and a growing list of accomplished alumni. Notable names include Andrew Strathman, a Windy City and Tri-City Storm alum who was drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2023; Grant Young, committed to Harvard for the 2026–27 season; Finn McLaughlin, a back-to-back Clark Cup Champion in the USHL and current University of Minnesota commit; and Andrew O’Neill, who plays for the WHL’s Edmonton Oil Kings and is committed to the University of North Dakota. Dozens more Storm players continue to advance to NCAA, junior, and professional levels.
Setting the Windy City Storm apart is the strength of its coaching and mentorship network. The program proudly boasts an impressive list of alumni coaches currently leading in elite hockey organizations:
- Ryan Ward – Head Coach of the USHL Youngstown Phantoms
- Rob Rassey – Assistant Coach at the University of Michigan
- Jessica Campbell – Assistant Coach with the NHL Seattle Kraken. Campbell made history as the first full-time female coach behind an NHL bench.
- Corey Leivermann – Assistant Coach at Clarkson University

Windy City Storm President Mark Jalcovik and Owner Dave Vennetti also own the Tri-City Storm of the USHL. Through this connection, TPH Academy plays a key role in supporting Tri-City players as they pursue college and professional hockey, providing academic structure and development support throughout the junior hockey season.

TPH Academy Alum Gavin Brindley with the Tri-City Storm and the Columbus Blue Jackets
The TPH model allows Windy City players and prospects to seamlessly transition between Tier I youth hockey and the USHL, creating opportunities to train with or compete alongside Tri-City athletes while gaining valuable exposure and experience. A prime example of this pathway is Gavin Brindley, a TPH Academy and Tri-City alum who was drafted 34th overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft and recently tallied 17+ points in his first AHL season (2024–25).
“This is a win for our athletes, families, and coaches,” shared Mark Jalcovik, President of the Windy City Storm and Owner of the USHL Tri-City Storm. “Our mission has always been to give every player a clear path to development — physically, mentally, and personally. By expanding our partnership with TPH, we’re able to provide even more resources, accountability, and structure so that every athlete, regardless of age or ability, gets the best version of the Storm experience.”
